About us

We are one of the oldest gospel choirs in Poland. We have been singing continuously since 1999, and we have been doing it because after one of the first 7xGospel workshops, our love for God and music had to find an outlet in regular meetings for His glory. Our founder is Lea Kjeldsen, who was our first conductor.

We are an ecumenical choir focused on praying and worshiping God through gospel music. Our repertoire is wide and firmly rooted in the gospel music trend, with particular emphasis on well-known American songs of this kind. We are also an international choir - in its ranks there are the choir singers from various countries and continents.

On a regular basis, we take part in workshops conducted by well-known gospel music instructors such as: Andrea Robinson (UK), Karen Gibson (UK). We also participate in workshops organized in Krakow (7xGospel, Gospel na Skałce) as well as gospel workshops organized in other cities in Poland and Europe. We co-organized and hosted gospel workshops (among others: in Krakow since 2000, in Grójec in 2005 and in Sandomierz in 2013).

We give concerts in Poland and abroad. So far, during our tours we have visited Denmark (2002, 2004, 2006, 2012), Germany (2004, 2005),Czech Republic (Praga, Pilzno, Stonava – 2003, 2004, 2013), Lithuania (2014), the USA (2017) and UK (2018).

For our 10th anniversary we recorded our second album “All because of Jesus''. For our 20th anniversary we launched a concert album recorded in Manggha Museum of Japanese Art and Technology in Krakow titled “20th Anniversary”.

We have been conducted by: Lea Kjeldsen, Aleksandra Slawik, Agnieszka Krauz, Paulina Knapik, Diana Droździel, Adam Rymarz, Grzegorz Szulik, Sylwia Szulik, Agnieszka Klich, Zuzanna Bąba, Rhonda Adams and Łukasz Kubica.Currently Our Conductor is Mateusz Madej  and Colin Willams.

Our mission

Our mission is inscribed in our name- Krakow Gospel Choir. We live and contribute to our city of Krakow and here is where we share gospel music most frequently. We are for God and we tell His stories while singing and playing.

Why Krakow?

Krakow is the place where the idea of the first gospel choir was born. This choir started meeting regularly in rehearsals and brought gospel into light into the city. Krakow is our home and we invite Jesus to our home, we thank Him and praise Him for all He provides us with. The idea of working for our community is close to our hearts - we organize workshops and christian music events, also, we collaborate with the Gospel Music Association, give concerts and sing in different churches in the city of Krakow.

Why Gospel?

Gospel is music based on the Gospel. This is the Good News we want to bring to everyone, and with  each other. We are the Christian ecumenical choir. Thanks to gospel music, we can pray together and carry this prayer further. The genre itself is very diverse, which is reflected in our repertoire. We use the classics of gospel music, but we also reach for worship songs, Polish-language songs, as well as our own compositions. We put our heart and energy into joyfully bringing Jesus to those who listen to us. The fact that we play and sing for God is the most important thing for us.

Why Choir?

God gave us everything so that we could meet and sing to Him. We are happy that we can bring our skills and talents for God's glory. We gather in His name, not in two or three, but in a larger group of several dozen people, and we invite Him among us. And He is among us. And that makes us want to sing gospel :)
